Hi my name is Charlotte Mason I was born on January 1, 1842 in, Gwynedd just north of Wales. I grew up as an only child and my education was done at home by my parents. Speaking of my parents, my mother died when I was 16 and then a year later my father passed away as well. After both of my parents passing I decided to enroll in the Home and Colonial Society where I trained to become a teacher and while there I earned a first class certificate. After getting my certificate I taught at the Davidson School in Worthing, England for 10 years, while teaching there I began to realized how not all children were given the opportunity of learning and having an education available to them. I want education to be "liberal" and by liberal I mean every child should have an opportunity to have an education that is not determined by their social class.
This is a peer reviewed article that is a dissertation on my educational theories and how they played a role in history and today for current educators. http://search.proquest.com/docview/304953047
